Betsy' surgery

Betsy's surgery went great, all spurs gone, joint cleaned out and rotator cuff is fixed. She has to go to therapy starting Wed so she has her work cut out for her (pun intended). She won't be able to move her right arm or hand for a few days so she won't be on the computer for a few days. But she said she would get back to you all by the end of the week... Dave

Been there done that! I'm happy to hear it went well.

Tell Betsy to let me know when she can wash her hair. That will be one of the biggest milestones.

Do EVERYTHING the therapist say to do. Don't do more than they say as the therapy is designed to take you to recovery in stages.

Had the left one done, and now trying to get up the time (nerve) to have the right one done.

Dave, please pass this on to Betsy: Surgery is the easy part. Therapy will determine whether the surgery was successful or not. It may be difficult, but you will only get out of it what you put into it, so push yourself. They make great medicine for the pain and don't be afraid to take it. If you fear addiction, do what I did. Take one pill an hour before your therapy session. Later on if you're sore, treat it with Tylenol. Taking the pain med this way made it much easier to get through the therapy. and since I was doing the therapy 3 times a week, the medicine lasted forever.

Good luck and stick with it!!

Tell Betsy we are thinking of her. Glad all went well. Now she has to be tough in her PT and recovery as that procedure is a painful recovery.
