Porch Light Bulb Access

The bulb on the amber porch light right outside the main entry door on my 2017 3791RD has expired and needs to be replaced. Upon inspection of the fixture I noticed that there are no screws or obvious means of removing the lens to access the bulb. Before going any further I figured that someone here has the answer on how to access the bulb...so, has anyone had to replace this bulb and if so can you enlighten me as to gain access? Much thanks!

The cover just snaps on and off like most lens covers, you can get a bulb replacement at most any automotive parts place.

Just me, but if it's not an LED I'd replace it with one.

Kyle - I should have been more accurate in the location of this light as it's the larger amber light that is located above the door. The amber lens on this light (on my unit) sits inside the black body/frame, the body/frame has a silicone seal to the RV body. I can see where the smaller amber running lights have a lens that pops off, but not this light. If I have to pop the lens and frame off I can do that, but was hoping not to have to reseal it if possible. Trying to keep it simple.

Send a message via MSN to dhuhn
It just snaps in and out you may need a flathead screwdriver to help pry up the lense.

Yes the lens will come out of the black housing with the help off a flat tip screwdriver, and if possible replace the bulb with an LED bulb, I could not find one with the same rating locally, and they are not cheap.

Does the scare light on the driver side (hookup side) come off the same way? On a trip and it quit working.

The large (~ 10" diameter) scare light cover is held on with screws. At least on my 2012 and earlier.

On my rectangular porch light, I can press upward on the bottom of the lens with my thumbs, pull outward, and the lens comes out of the frame.

This is a photo of mine with the cover off. Don't mind the innards, as I disconnected the bulb and tied in my LED strip that now works off the porch light switch. You will see the notches around the edge and there is one or two in the lower side. They are what the molded tabs of the lens fits into, that you use a screwdriver or other implement to push the lens tabs out of to remove the lens.

The lens/frame configuration is essentially the same on my 2017 and the lens did indeed pop-up with little effort. (Thanks Kyle) Looks were definitely deceiving. Couldn't locate an #1141 LED bulb locally so I've ordered a 2-pack of bulb from Amazon for $11.49
Thanks again for the assistance.

Rohrman Your LED install seems to be just what I've been wanting to do,wired into the porchlight fixture. Please advise what LED kit you used and where you got it. I haven't found one to adapt to that install.

Don't have a clue what brand. Got it at a Camping World on sale several years ago. It changes colors and all that with a tiny remote, and the strip can be cut to length. The little box inside the light fixture housing is the thing that makes them work, must also be the receiver for the remote. I took the fixture off the wall, filed a small notch for the cable to go through, then remounted it to the wall and applied silicone all around it.

"Don't mind the innards"? I'm going to start calling you MacGyver. I'm glad it does not have red digital display counting down.

Hi, just replaced mine, lens can be gently pried off, you will find a extruding bump on the lens at the top, a very small screwdriver will work to pry off, purchase the bulb at automotive store.

If it's like our 2012, the lens pops off and any wedge base LED will work. Ordered mine online, less than $15.
