Central NY State to Orlando routes

I'm really not a fan of I-95 traffic in Virginia and North Carolina so for our trip in mid-May, I am thinking of running I-81 to I-77 to I-26 to I-95. Will be taking the bypasses around Charlotte and Jacksonville. How are the road conditions for these routes? Thanks in advance.

We take this route every year to Florida as we are also not fans of I-95. The road conditions are excellent, the views are very nice. After you get onto I-77, there are some hills, but the views are worth it.

One word of caution, however: time your trip to not go through Charlotte, NC in rush hour. All other places should be good.

Since we travel to the western part of Florida, we do not go on I-95 at all. At Columbia, SC, we take 321 and 301. It's a much more relaxing trip.

If leaving from our Home Base in Western New York, the I-81 to I-77 to I-26 to I-95 is the route we take. Mileage and time are close to the all I95 route, but much more relaxing.
