Rally to Williamsburg,VA

From rally going to Williamsburg,VA. Any one knowing the area comment on best route and camp grounds along the way. Hope to avoid Washington DC.

We should talk at rally. We are headed to DC after the rally then down through Williamsburg to Tampa. You have probably spent a lot of time in DC, so the sights there may not be of interest. We're headed to DC because that's where we met 41 years ago. DC is a beautiful city but I understand avoiding the crowds. I'll follow this to see what ideas are posted. Along the way, there are a lot of places in Pennsylvania like Gettysburg and Lancaster County. What are you hoping to see and interests? For example, Lancaster County is loaded with quilting shops. I can't afford to spend much time there as DW will keep me there. Scenery - Skyline Drive in the mountains of Virginia and then cut East.
