Bellevue NE (south of Omaha)

Need suggestions/reviews for a campground in or near Bellevue NE for early June.
City of Bellevue has Haworth Park or across the river is Lake Manawa state park (Iowa) any reviews?
Going for grandson's youth baseball tourney.
Thanks

Joe we are on our way back to Omaha at the present time after spending this last winter crossing the Southwest. I'm not sure but I think Haworth Park in Bellevue is not open because of the Missouri River flooding that took place two years ago. They may have got it cleaned up and reopened but I don't think they have yet! I don't think that Manawa State Park has any camping, at least for rigs our size anyway. There are three casinos in Council Bluffs and I know one has RV hookups for sure so that might be a suggestion also. You might want to check with Pine Grove RV Park at the Greenwood exit along I-80 between Omaha and Lincoln or Mahoney State Park which is also just down the Interstate from Pine Grove and closer by just a few miles than Pine Grove. We are about a week out from Omaha yet but I can check on Haworth and Manawa if you like and let you know! Mahoney is a busy State Park and you need to have advanced reservations there so I would make reservations now IF they have any spaces left for that time frame. Pine Grove is where we have held the CPRR (Central Plains Regional Rally)for the past three years. Pine Grove and Mahoney are both about 30 miles from Bellevue if you need to know that. Drop me a PM and I'll give you my direct email address and phone numbers so you can contact us direct if you like!

To add to what Rondo said; There is camping At Manawa (it is a small park) and it does have a few sites for bigger units--we have camped there. There is also a very nice Park close to 84th street and hiway 370 in Papillion--Walnut Creek. It is a city park and has w/e with dump station. phone number is 402.679.9889. make reservations soon as it will fill up. there is also a State Park at Louisville, NE, which isn't too far from Bellevue. I am very sure that Hayworth is not open. If you are military or retired there is camping at the Offutt Base Lake. The Casino that has camping in Council Bluffs is Horse Shoe--it is basically hookups on a parking lot

Thanks for the suggestions. We made reservations at the Bluff Run RV Park at the casino in Council Bluffs, IA for the week of June 10-16.

Now I need suggested route from east of Dallas to the Omaha area.

We plan to leave a week ahead and stop three places for two nights each.

Sure appreciate your Knowledge. This is our first out of Texas trip with the Monty. And its a three week journey.
The joys of retirement!

I would go from Dallas north on 35 to Wichita then to Topeka and KC and get I 29 north--and hook with I80 West--takes you right into CB near the casino. You could take I 35 to I 44 and go thru Joplin then on 71 north but that will take you thru more KC traffic. (oops I see you are wanting to stop a couple of places so here goes--at Carthage, MO there is the Precious Moments museum and chapel. Or you could go over to Branson. From Little Rock north highway 65 will take you thru some pretty scenery, some hills but most of the road is 3 or 4 lane, right into Branson. the campground right along 65 is city run, Riverside, and is nice and an easy place to get to, close to Branson landing and also the Strip, then you could go north on 65 all the way to 36 (Chillicothe) in Missouri then to St Joseph, Mo then 29 on to CB Someone else may come along and give you other suggestions. By the way the campground in Little Rock across from the Clinton Library is also a good one that one is also Riverside. Email if you have any other questions.
