holding tanks
 First off I'd like to say that we are happy with our '05 Mountaineer 298RLS. There have been posts on this, but no clear answers: can these units be towed with full fresh water tanks with no damage to the tanks? Or any of the tanks for that matter. Thanks

So have we. We're not always full but have been for a lot of miles without problem.

When traveling to the different rallys, SMART, Good Sam, Etc that may or may not have water, our tank is always full traveling from our previous location. When traveling from one area to another, I leave our water tank at least 1/3 to 2/3 full in case I have to stop overnite without facilities.

You should be able to tow your rig with any amount of liquid in any tank...that's how they are designed to be used.
Sounds as if you have read the thread regarding partially filled tanks having the water sloshing around and causing problems with the tank staying securily fastened to the coach. Like everything else in these things, stuff breaks, tanks included.

That's good to hear people take this position that it's ok to travel with the tanks holding liquids - when we go up to our lake property, there is no water, so we travel with the fresh full and waste tanks minimally prepped for use.
When we're going to a campground that has a full hookup, I like to travel with the waste tanks mostly full (2/3 or better), with cleaning solutions agitated by the drive to clean and bust everything loose. I'll drop the tanks when we arrive to start fresh.
So far all tanks work well other than the galley (rear kitchen), those sensors don't work right, so I'm thinking a good enzyme ride with a load will help that out.

Exactly. But it just seems like there would be less stress on the tanks if they were empty, or near empty.

I'd agree with others that you should be able to and we always travel with our fresh water tank full as we always boondock BUT since Keystone uses such poor quality tanks don't be surprised if it breaks.
