Finally, Officially full Timers

Update from HOTB (Husband of the Boss)

With the sale of our S&B last week, we are now (stationary) full timers! However, we have been living in our 2013 3150RL (at least one of us) since last Thanksgiving.
When we purchased our Montana in August of 2015, the plan was to sell our hobby farm in Michigan's UP and escape to warmer climes after I retired in May 2016. At that point Stacey would pursue travel nursing and I would look for camp hosting jobs wherever she took a contract. She did not want to spend another winter in the frozen tundra, so we made plans to set her up at her Father's place in Kansas until I could join her full time in the spring. So, off I went 2 days before Thanksgiving, to get the Monte set up and install utilities to take her thru the winter in Kansas.
Then that damn Murphy showed up - as in Murphy's Law! 50amp electric service installed - check; heated water hoses hooked up - check; sewer hookup complete - check; propane bulk tank ordered - delivery due Dec 8th. On Dec 5th, Stacey was taking a riding lesson, her horse spooked and tossed her. She landed on the butt - hard enough to get a concussion and 6 pelvic fractures. I got back to the UP on the 9th, but Murphy wasn't done with us, yet. The following week, she found out she had breast cancer.
We decided that the UP would not be the best place for the needed medical treatment; that Kansas University Medical Center would be a much better choice. She made the trip to KC just before Christmas and moved into the the Monte. I stayed in the UP to work, train my replacement, and prepare the house for sale.
Her pelvic fractures healed and she had a double mastectomy in February. I was able to be down there with her for the surgery and 2 weeks following before I had to return to Michigan for the start of the Great Lakes shipping season. The cancer was caught early and was a type that did not require chemo or radiation. Murphy had finally left the room!
I retired May 6th and proceeded to Kansas with a load of household goods and the dogs and cat. Stacey returned to work on May 15th as a Home Health nurse and I spent the next 4 months running back and forth to Michigan to finish sorting, packing, painting, and maintaining the property. Sales agreement signed on Sep 19th and final trip got me back to KC on Oct 3rd.
We are stationary on family land and enjoying the (to us) "warmer climes" of Kansas. Stacey is doing fine and just about finished with reconstuctive surgery. Along with the dogs and cat, we now have 2 quarter horses, so the travel nursing is probably not going to happen anytime soon. We are looking at small travel trailers so we can continue to camp and are looking forward to doing some horse camping. I think I may have to find a job.

Sorry to hear of all your difficulties. Praying that things continue on a positive path for you. We have a RV home base in Wilsey, Ks where we spend our summers, maybe we'll meet down the road someday.

Having owned horses for many years, they certainly can keep your wallet empty. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
