I can see clearly now, the fog is gone!

Had a lens implant this morning and I can see the forum a whole lot better now. It was very difficult to view for the past few weeks due to a cataract that slipped up on me. I was leaving to drive somewhere one morning and removed my glasses to wipe a smudge off of them but when I removed them the smudge didn’t go away. I thought “that’s not right!"

I went to the eye doctor the next day and found out I had a cataract on both eyes and he urged me to get it taken care of as quickly as possible before the other one got real bad. He said it was fast growing. I was at the eye Dr.

Glad to hear you're doing well with it. Vision problems are pretty scary.

I can feel your pain. When I turned 60 I thought I wasn't seeing as good as I should. Went to one of those discount eye places and got tested for new glasses. That doctor said I had the "start" of cataracts in both eyes but they weren't too bad yet. Got new regular glasses, new sunglasses, and new safety glasses, for a total of around $900.00. About 9 months later I wasn't seeing very good and thought they messed up my prescription. Went to a big eye center with a ton of eye Doctors and found out I needed cataract surgery on both eyes. Had it done and now I only need reading glasses. Have wore glasses since I was 12 years old so this was one surgery I was thrilled to have!

Mine in the left eye was fairly slow progressing. 8-9 months after each time I got new glasses I would begin to notice I could not read signs as well in my left eye as my right. Doc had told me I had cataracts and it would continue to get worse. Finally decided to get it corrected. That was 10 yrs ago.
Right eye has started also but at a much slower rate. Probably just a matter of time til i do it though.

I'm like you, only I had the Restor (Brand name) lenses put in and can now read and drive without glasses. I do however need glasses to use the computer unless I set real close to it. Even though I've had them for over a year, I still can't get used to leaving the house without looking or thinking about my glasses!

Cataracts is one of them good to get medical maladies. I had both eyes done, 6 weeks apart, over 7 years ago. I came out 20/20 for distance and needed cheap cheaters for reading phone books or contracts. Otherwise I was glasses free for the first time in years. Today I have slipped to 20/35, which is still fine for most activities, but I do have a pair of prescription glasses just in case.
