Who's wintering in Arizona?

Just wondered how many were going to be in Arizona this winter.
Providing I get an OK from the doctor today(foot surgery) we will be leaving Michigan for Arizona tomorrow via Las Vegas and Palm Springs. Will be in Casa Grande till after Christmas and then Benson till mid April.

We will be in Arizona the month of February. First week in Tombstone/Bisbee area. Second week in Tucson area. Third and fourth week in Apache Junction area. We are looking forward to our first winter away from the northern cold and snow!

We're leaving Nov. 20th for 3 months at Canyon Vistas RV resort in Gold Canyon, S/E of Phoenix. Since this winter is our first time snowbirding we're going to cruise thru NM and Texas in March before trying out Florida till mid-April.

BusyBees,
We have stayed at Canyon Vistas before and loved it. Nice park and nice view of the Superstition Mountains. I have a brother nearby and will be over there off and on all winter.

We will be in Florence, midway between Tucson and Apachee Junction on HWY 79, from mid Jan till(?). It's called Tierra del Sol, lot 58, between Florence Gardens, large Mfg. Home Park, and Caliante', large RV Park. About 1/8th. mile N of Hunt HWY. If they have built the McDonalds by then we'd be on the left, Northbound, about 3/4 mi. Stop in, if they have room and you haven't made a Reservation they may still give you a week free stay if you take tour. Which is about a 1/2 hour discussion of the costs, lots left and costs to live there.
If your passing thru after mid Jan STOP and say HELLO! Iv'e actually found it quicker to get from Casa Grande area to APJ and Gold Canyon area faster by cutting across to Coolidge then Florence to HWY 60.

It seems like there are going to be quite a few MOC members in the same general area and might all be able to meet somewhere for lunch or an activity, and leave the rigs at "home" in their winter locations. Glenn has us thinking about buffets on another thread.... any good ones around the area? You could have a mini MOC lunch rally!

How fun to be able to travel with the seasons. I envy you all. Send postcards if you can.

Hello Walter and Lucy "Northstar"

We just bought a Montana 3400 from Scotty. Did you buy yours there too? We plan on leaving Palmer the Monday after Thanksgiving and heading to Yuma. Where will you be going? Do you know Dee and Phil Prickett? They are already there.

Walter and Lucy ,

I haven't figured out how to use this yet. I don't think I signed our name.

We will be going to the Military Base in Tucson in the latter part of January. We were originally going to go earlier, but have a chance to go on a cruise the middle of January.

I'm crying FOUL!!!! You can't have a winter rally (even a mini) and a BUFFET... FOUL!!!! ...without my being able to attend and I can't. FOUL!!!! So if that's your plans you can just scrub them. FOUL!!!!
You can have the rally but NO buffet but if you do keep a doggy bag for me. A BIG doggy bag.

I'm currently in Indio, CA, but - believe it or not - am having dental work done in Algodones, Mexico and had lunch in Yuma yesterday (2-1/2 hours away)! Will be returning for one more visit on Tuesday.

However, my plans include at least 2 weeks in Quartzsite in January for the big Sports, Vacation and RV Show - anyone else going there? I'll start another thread on this topic. Afterward I want to visit Tombstone, so Vickster, I might see you there! Maybe we should organize another mini-MOC? Glenn, I'll be sure to get the doggy bag for you.

Nancy and I are planning to be south of Tucson, in Sierra Vista, beginning early Feb., probably for a month or so. We also might stay at the the AF base in Tucson for some of that time.

Any recommendations for a park in Sierra Vista? Never visited there before.

A "gathering" of Forum folks in the area sounds like fun...keep us in the info "loop".

Thanks,

We will be in St. David, about 15 miles north of Tombstone from Dec.29 till mid April. A get together sounds great. Just don't tell Glenn
