Just Frazzled Out

With Black November leading up to the not so ultimate Black Friday ... Small Business Saturday followed by 7 consecutive days of Cyber Week deals ... and now Green Monday ... I am just used up scanning the ads, emails, infomercials, keeping track of my bonus points, and doing all the Door Busting on my quest for the best holiday shopping deals. Wheeew! I think I've lost sight of something or have gotten so burnt out I'm numb.

You need to retire and go full time. Once you are retired, and full timing, you already own everything that will fit and don't have money for anything else anyway

I agree with Dick and Joyce. When I look at all the deals, the first thing that goes through my mind is "where the heck am I going to put it?" and usually that means that I don't buy it. Full timing is sure easier on the pocket book

X3, we said the same thing yesterday, looking at all the Sunday paper adds and nothing that we needed because we have just about everything we need with us and not much place to put anything else.

Here's an interesting tidbit: there is a website called Alibaba. For those unaware, it's kind of like Amazon on steroids. At any rate, they started Singles Day in China a while back, and it has grown so much that last year, it out grossed Black Friday and Cyber Monday here is the states combined! That's a lot of Renminbi aka Yuan aka Chinese currency!

When we buy something we have to get rid of something.

Sage advice that brings a smile. Good words Dick.

We try to buy from local merchants when possible.
Alibaba is Chinese ... do what works for you.

I am with you Dick, just can't convince the DW yet. Maybe once all 12 of the grandkids can read and recognize what "cash" really is we can make that transition. Until then it is....Ho..Ho..off the the stores we go...

I'm not sure what your point is. I was merely trying to point out the staggering dollar figure involved in a "holiday" that didn't even exist a few years ago. There was nothing in my post to suggest anyone buy via Alibaba.

I was "tongue in cheek" pointing out as well with my topic ... Used to be Black Friday was the big shopping event for the season ... now we are bombarded with a month and a half of supposed deals by several marketing strategists. As for retiring and going full time ... retirement is within reach for me. As for fulltiming ... it takes a special kind of personality and relationship to call your only residence an RV and make it work. I'd have to get a divorce as the other half just isn't that much of a camper kind of gal. With just 35' of running away room, my lifespan could be greatly abbreviated. Besides as my retired neighbor always says, "I need to keep working to help pay for his Social Security checks"! Ha!

If you wait long enough, I'll bet you'll start seeing Black Friday specials showing up in July.

You are certainly right that this lifestyle isn't for everyone and both parties need to really love it. I figured you were speaking tongue in cheek, but unfortunately like most humor there's a large amount of truth involved.
