At the rally last September there were at least 2 TV with cargo carriers attached while towing Montys. I recall both owners indicating not having any problems. Only thing is I don't recall is who these MOCers were. Hopefully they'll see this thread and jump in.

Saw the thread Glenn. We have a carrier at the back of the truck. It is a tote tray (aluminum) which is capable of holding 500 lbs. It goes into the 2" receiver at the back of the truck. Onto the tray we have bolted an alumunium storage box. This is the type that normally would go into the bed of the truck. We got the one with the raised supports on the bottom of the each side of the box. We can do a 90 deg. turn hitched and the box doesn't come anywhere near the truck. The only caution I can give anyone thinking about the tray is be sure to have the bottom of the tray reinforced as the welds will break loose. If anyone wants a pic let me know and I will take a pic and post it.

I have installed a Draw-Tite 6501 which has a capacity of 500 lbs and is 20" x 60". I also used the Draw-Tite stabilizing pin with lock. This locking pin makes the carrier very stable and secure. I built a wood ramp that folds and fits in the bed of the truck. With the ramp I am able to load and unload my Yamaha 3000 by myself. I had the receiver installed by Ramsey Trailer Sales, 22590 Interstate 20, Wills Point, TX 903-865-1800. They did an excellant job. They had to remove the stabilizers, pull out underpinning, weld in the hitch and re-assmemble. Did professional job cost $265. My dealer Fun Time would not install a receiver due to liability concerns. I had to move the license plate as most anything you put on the carrier is going to block the plate. I have a picture but I don't know how to post it?

Here are 3 pics of the Hitch Haul and the box. I will get a few more with it mounted on the truck and hooked to the 5th. http://community.webshots.com/photo/...89831689eYHJeg
