Backup camera monitor

I have a factory installed Voyager camera and monitor and I use it as a treat view mirror. Everything works but the monitor blinks a lot like it is being interfered with by external signals. Can the monitor be insulated from this interference or is there some other problem causing the blinking?

Is it a hard-wired system or wireless?

I think you may find that the issue is noise in the power system that the monitor plugs into. They do make clamp-on ferrite noise suppressors...but I would hook the monitor to a stand-a-lone small 12vdc battery to see what happens to your symptoms. John

The system is wireless and factory installed in 2008.

We have the wireless model as well and we have intermittent blinking of the monitor that is primarily associated with overpasses and underpasses. Other than that we have had no problems with the Voyager system. If it plugs into the cigarette lighter for power, you may have a loose connection. Also doublecheck that the plug on the back of the monitor is seated well and that the wires to the plug are not loose. We usually have about three indicator bars on the monitor when the unit is having good reception. If the receiving signal is low, this can cause the monitor to blink off and back on as well. Not much help here other than checking the obvious connections and signal strength.
