Bad Bad News

Today as I was taking in my Kitchen Slide ( 2016 High Country 375FL) I thought I saw the wall directly behind the slide move. After DW got home I had her run the controls and I went back to check. The wall aft of the slideout is flexing in about 1 1/2 inches. I suspect a broken wall stud. Brought it down to the dealership and the two service managers said not good. The unit is a little over a month out of warranty. They are submitting a claim with Keystone and keeping our fingers crossed.

OMG from all the problems that have been discussed over the last decade I believe this has never been heard of.

Hoping Keystone steps up to help solve the issue. Keep us posted.

The movement is right at the bottom of the wall. They are going to submit a video to Keystone . Hope it works

Good luck and hope it works out. Not all dealers can complete this type of repair. 1st heard of a broken weld on your model but the 352/353 (if memory works) has had a few. On those the 5ers with the residential fridge seems more prone.

broken weld perhaps, I have had that on a previous unit, was a Lacrosse (forest River) had to go back to the factory, they kept it all winter and repaired it. took care of picking it up and bringing back to the dealer too.
Lets see if Keystone steps up on this one, 1 month out of warrantee they should.

Wow You are scaring me since we have identical units. So far mine has not had any wall flexing at the rear of the kitchen slide but did have that slides motor incorrectly installed. Mine has however had little useage sitting in the dealer waiting on parts for most of this year.

2017 353RL, just checked our unit and it's fine. We bought it May 2017 and have only been out once with it so far, but getting ready to go on a week long trip in 10 days.
I appreciate very much everyone sharing their experiences on this forum, helps me look for known issues early while we still have a warranty.

I forgot to ask, is the movement being noticed inside or outside the unit?

The movement is on the inside of the unit however, the exterior now has a slight bow in the fiberglass. It is scheduled to start work on Tuesday but we are out of town until Friday night. I will post a update on Saturday. One member was kind enough to share photos of his repair that I forwarded to my dealership for informational purposes.

I have a 352 and had the same thing happen at the front of the slide. It turned out to be a broken weld at the bottom which was apparently fairly easy to reach. I'm told they reinforced the weld someway and it didn't take much to fix. Mine was still under warranty at the time and Keystone authorized I think 4 hours to repair.

Well the good news is that Keystone covered the repair even though the unit was 5 weeks out of warranty . Now have our fingers crossed that it looks good when done.

Very good news. You may not even be able to find where the fix was done.
