Winterization

I have a question for those of you who do their own winterization. Do you always pull the drain/anode plug on waterheater to drain the tank. When I did mine several months ago, I drained the lines using the two drain plugs at the lowest points in the system. At the time, I hoped that this would also drain the H/W tank. Now I am having doubts. Hopefully tomorrow it will quit raining and I can get across town and pull the plug. It is in a rather difficult position, so I did not think it was necessary. We have had some single digit temps, but they did not last for hopefully a long enough time to cause any damage. I am not concerned with the lines or traps as I pumped them full of anti-freeze. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks for the help. Dennis & Carol
