Montana 3580 Gally dump valve issue

The dump valve for the kitchen gally located in the wheel well seems to have dislodged after pulling to dump. Is it just threaded in or is it mechanically fastened. Any experience with this or advice much appreciated. Dui

Don't know what you mean by dislodged? Do you mean the cable broke and you can pull it out ? There is a nut on both sides of the beam holding the pull handle assembly to the frame. I am in the process or replacing the junk Bristol factory valves on my 3455sa. I bought Valterra valves and longer cables so I can make them fit with as little a run as possible with minimal bends. I am also moving the galley valve from its factory position to one of the extra holes in the middle leg of the level up system so it will be much easier to get to.

on ours there is no cable on the galley tank, just a threaded rod, only valve I haven't pulled apart so not sure if it threads into the valve slide or if it was moulded ..... sorry.

Depending on the year, some are threaded and some have a little screw holding the handle on. If it takes a screw there will be a hole for it in the middle of the handle.

On mine it's a threaded rod. It has come out a couple of times. I cut about a 10"X10" flap so I could see to screw it back in. Also used some "loctite". Then secured flap with gorilla tape.

I would love to help you but you have to explain dislodge a bit farther. I am almost certain it is a cable operated valve.

By dislodged I basically mean it is no longer attached. I can pull it and there is no resistance. That is not attached to the valve probably.

If it is cable operated you should be able to pull it out and see the wire that is inside the sheathing. If that is the case it is probably broken or just came unsecured from the valve.

Can anyone post a pic of each of the systems valves and cable or rod assembly. I am a visual guy and want to get my tools ready to cut the underbelly and attempt a repair. If you have a pic of what's there it would really help. Thx in advance. Dui

I have some pics but don't know how to post them here (and don't really want to know how)

Its pretty simple to figure out what you have. Pull on you handle, if the cable is separated it should pull all the way out and you will now have a handle with a flexible solid or stranded wire it your hand.

If it was the rod type your would have a handle with a ridged rod in your hand.

Don't worry about pulling it out since it is broken anyways.

You are still going to have to locate the valve and cut open the underbelly to repair/ replace the valve/cable/rod
