I was looking through all the various regions and did not see anything particularly close with the exception of the Rio Grande Valley Group. We belong to a local Good Sam Chapter and found our monthly gatherings very enjoyable. Are there any others in the Texas area that would be interested in getting together? Any thoughts?

msmoonsatx,

We are close to Austin Texas and would love to get to know some other Montana owners in our area. We haven't tried the Good Sams Chapters as we have been tied to our business. Hopefully in about four weeks we will be able to travel when we want to. Do you have a place and time for a get together?

Like you we are also partially tied down with the DW (Suanne) still working. For her schedule we have to plan several months ahead so that she can request the time off. We are also leaving the middle of June for a month to travel to Sacramento area and attend the American Volksport Convention.

We have stayed at the Bastrop RV Park twice with our rally group and the facilities are very nice. If we have 10 rigs or more we have gotten use of the club house as well. It might be interesting to see how much interest we generate and I might be able to talk to the park manager (I am the wagonmaster for our Good Sam Chapter). Otherwise we could consider an informal get together where we all make our own reservations for a specific weekend.

Our group also gets together on Friday mornings at our rallies to play golf. The Bastrop State Park golf course has been very amenable to us as well.

We are always anxious to meet other Montana owners. We are retired so we are available most of the time.

We are also interested in getting together. We live in Bastrop in the winter. We will be leaving here in March and won't be back until October. By then you guys will have it all worked out!! We would love to join in a group function then.

We live the the Dallas suburb of Richardson. We're retired (woot!) but aren't full-timers. We are interested in TX/OK/AR get togethers.

We got our Monty last August and went to the National MOC in Goshen, IN in September and met some really great owners and got a good factory tour.

Coming up for us is a trip to Florida in mid-March for a shuttle lift-off viewing. Then later to California for the MOC western regional rally in northern CA.

Our schedule is pretty tied up until the middle of May and then we are leaving for California shortly after that. It might work out that those of us that can get together choose a weekend, make a reservation and get thing rolling. At that time we might be able to plan future get togethers.

If I can throw out a date, May 18-20?

I am interested. But due to business commitments my time is limited. However if I was able to get away I would love to get together with other MOCers. We live near Sulphur Springs, TX. We do try to make an anual trip to the Coast around Thanksgiving.

What part of the coast do you come to? I am only twenty miles from the coast as the crow flies in the Freeport/Lake Jackson/Bay City area.
