Taking over my IPhone

I’m getting pop up adds that completely take over my phone. They aren’t sponsored by MOC or any other web site. I say that because they pop up on several sites. They always start the same way, you have won something, BS. The only way to get rid of them is to close the site and reopen it then sometimes, usually they get me again. I’ve “won” stuff from Verizon and just now a thousand dollars from Walmart, more BS. What is the problem and how can I get rid of them short of shooting my phone.
Thanks Lynwood

1. Go to the Home screen. ...
2. 'Settings' > tap 'Safari' > and toggle the switch beside 'Block Pop-Ups' into green.

thats to block the pop ups. if that doesn't work try this one:

1. Put your iPhone or iPad into Airplane Mode (go into Settings and toggle the Airplane Mode switch into the off position).

2. Go to Settings > Safari and tap Clear History and Website Data.

3. Close Safari (double-press the Home button and swipe Safari up to close).

4. Exit Airplane Mode.

Someone I know gets pop ups after he leaves a place of business (like for example Home Depot). They ask him to rate the business. It’s a Google thing, I think. I’ve never heard of it before, and neither have a couple of people I’ve asked who are in the web design and Google analytics field.

Any ideas on that? He has an Android phone.

I’ve had people call the shop to buy something and ask to speak to someone else because they say I sound like I come from way down south and they can’t understand me so maybe singing at your wedding isn’t such a good idea. But I’ll try to think of something else I can do for you.

Lynwood ... I had the same problem while On this site. I just about guarantee I got it off Facebook. I cleared my history, reset my pop up blocker, rebooted iPad, and so far, it hasn’t come back. That was several days of aggravation. It only popped up on this website. Weird.

LoanOak, since your phone knows where you are at (leaving Home Depot), turn off the option for google to know your location. This option also eats up battery power, I think as it is constantly checking your location thru the cellular data access.

Thanks. I will mention that to my friend. It does not happen to me, and Google does know my location.

Ok another problem: now none of the sites I’m a member of remembers my login credentials. I tell them to remember me. Are they just getting forgetful like me? MOC isn’t that old. MOC is the worst. How do I fix that?
Thanks Lynwood

Unfortunately, when you clear your history, you clear the cookies that are associated with sites like this one, along with your bank sites also. A necessary evil sometimes.

I don't use the app for MOC. I have it bookmarked on Safari. I had trouble with the MOC app and find it works fine on Safari.

My I phone Safari History file is gone!
Does anyone know how to get it to work again?
I took it to the Verizon store today and they didn’t know. They have got rid if their technical personnel.

Go to apple.com and then support. Find your phone and ask the question in the support group.

Do you have apple for computers. If so you can remember all your passwords in the key files and they will restore from there.

Also backup, backup, and backup your phone and all your devices and computers. Several times a day.
