Found more trains than Goshen

We are in Clovis NM, and we have finally found a CG right next to the tracks that has more trains than Goshen. I was told that this the largest RR hub west bound to Calif and the southwest. It certainly is a lot noisier than Goshen and we actually got used to Goshen train traffic, not so much here. We are moving up to Grady to Betsy's brother's house in the morning. That is 37 miles north of Clovis and not within 30 miles of a train track. Just one medium small wind generator ( the size of a pickup truck). Only a slight whirring sound, other than that dead quiet. The whole town only has 6 north/south streets and 5 east/west streets. There is a lot to be said about quiet...

More trains than Goshen? You must be camped in the roundhouse!

After 42 years of working in the railroad industry the sound of that many trains would lull me to sleep.

Come on down to Ruidoso, no trains here. Looks like you may be getting some bad storms in your area soon.

Before you leave Clovis, buy a sheet of plywood and paint it when you get to Grady. Then, sit and watch the paint dry. That is the most exciting theing in Grady.
I have a son-in-law that was probably invovled in making the noise you heard. He is an engineer for Burlington Northern there. I lived in Ft. Sumner NM for 7 years, then Portales NM for another 9. Not much to see there.

Now you can update your map and add New Mexico to it.

Several places in New Mexico vie with Goshen for most trains, the thing New Mexico has going for it is usually the parks have an interstate between them and the trains so you get jake brakes to break the constant train noise.

I hear the train a comin, It's rollin round the bend, And I ain't seen the sunshine, since I don't know when!

I'm stuck in Clovis NM and time keeps draggin on; but that train keeps a rollin, down that San Antone.

When I hear that whistle blowin, I hang my head and cry!!!
