Hankook F19 14 ply 7.50 16 radial trailer tire

Does anybody know anything about these tires? A trailer guy we trust recommended these for our Monty. He said a lot of construction guys use them and he has never heard of an issue if properly inflated. We are still leaning toward the G614s, but still researching.

According to the data on the Walmart site, these tires are speed rated at 68 MPH and the load index of 118 translates to a load capacity of 2910 lbs. There is no advantage over ST tires, or even properly rated LT tires. If you are needing tires for the larger Montanas, you will need the Sailun S637 or the Goodyear G614. Don't know why the Hankook's are called 14 ply rated, but the weight capacity listed doesn't compute.

Oh! Thanks. Glad I checked with you. My brain is on overload from all this information. Will definitely go with one of the two you recommend.

Hankooks are not bad tires. Many of the farmers around here run them on their pickups particularly because (around here anyway) they still have a road hazard warranty and we have flint rock in our gravel roads. Those particular tires are not what you should have on the Monty, however.

The ply rating alone doesn't determine a tires load bearing capacity. It is determined by size, speed, ply, and application for which it is desinged. The Hankook F19 7.50R16 has a maximum load rating of 2910 pounds (single) and 2470 (dual) (molded into the tire it actually says 3330 single and 3175 dual) at 105 psi., with a maximum speed of K (68 mph). This tire is extremely durable and dependable with all steel construction and is used extensively on equipment and stock trailers. I would have no problem recommending this tire for 5th wheel use, as long as the trailer weight is within the load capacity of the tires.

Using tires on a construction vehicle around town and on construction sites and pulling a camper for hours on end are far different uses. A tire that will hold up on one might not do so well on the other.

Huh????? I sell this tire to folks running cross country, coast to coast, border to border. People who put many, many more miles on their trailers than most full time RV'ers put on their 5th wheels.

I just had mine in and replaced the 6 year, 29k plus miles, old BF Goodrich commercial TA's with the same tire. I know the recall issues but my rig is smaller and those tires served me well. Anyway I ask the owner of the independent tire shop what feedback he was getting on the Sailun S637. He has sold a ton of Sailun tires not just the 637's and said all feedback has been very positive. No problems with wear or balance. Lonnie what has your experience been the Sailun tires? Thanks in advance, Jim

Jim, I have very little experience with Sailun tires in general, and none at all with the S637. I have sold a few of their medium truck sizes and they seem to be a pretty well built tire.
