Yea i figured the lawyer was a waste. North carolina lemon laws for rvs are nonexist. Under 10,000 lbs and not a house trailer.

Ive pushed several times to get the factory to fix it. Now this will be the third time at the local dealer. Time will tell.

Don't know what's going on with the newer montanas but that does not look good at all. I have a 2011 3455sa. I can see quite a bit of movement between the pin box and front cap while going down the road. The large level on the pin box is placed just right so I can see the flex in the rear view mirror.

The caulk is separated and the decal lines do not line up.
I was worried about it so I took off the trim on both sides and found many missing screws and virtually no sealant other than the bead of caulk along the top.

With the trim off I hitched it up and the fiberglass wall skin below the slide would extend below the framing about 1/4" essentially pushing the trim down (if it were on)
What I did was cut off that 1/4-3/8 piece, cleaned up everything in and around the overhang, pumped the area all along the overhang and going down with silicon and put it all back together using way more galvanized screws. I also cut off the bottom of the wall between the closet and the tall cabinet to allow it to flex without breaking anything.
This was 1-1/2 years ago.
Yes it still flexes and I can see the top bead of silicon breaking loose, but I know there is a lot of silicon below keeping the water out.

All the manufacture's know there units flex in this area and that is why they started putting the expansion joints in many years ago.

I inspected as best as I could for frame cracks and could not find any.

This issue seams to be worsening on the newer units for some reason.

Obviously if sidewalls are cracking and bowing out, there are more serious issues going on.

Either design and engineering have not come to understand the weight and stress while pulling over bad roads or just part of the lack of QC and work ethic. Hurry and get them out, make more money, and be home to milk the cows.

Absolutely ridiculous!! However, I think I may have told you this, but right where your fracture is is where a new panel was placed in mine. They made a joint as you see in yours at the top of the slide and replaced the side of the camper from the slide forward. It is now a totally different section now instead of the entire side being one piece.

I haven't seen any problems with my 2014 yet but i do keep an eye out for the caulk separating since this seems to be a problem for many of these trailers. I do have the Hennsley air-bag hitch which does give the nose end a better ride but you shouldn't have to spend over $3,000.00 for a hitch to keep the excess flexing from happening. I doubt the air-bag hitch is any guarantee of no flexing buy i'm sure it can't hurt. There is NO EXCUSE for what you are having to go through with the dealer and Keystone. Hope it all works out to your good in the end.

I traded my 2014 3402RL in due to frame failure problems back in March. The failure was not in the fifth over hang but down in the main floor area. The dealer that took my trade inspected the trailer prior to accepting it. The inspector showed me a crack I had never noticed in the fiberglass right where your unit cracked. Mine was only about 1/2" long at the front lower slide corner. He stated that this is very common on Montanas and he always looks for this during his inspection. Likely a result of frame flex just beginning.
Good luck getting the problem corrected, it is time they start designing at least slightly above minimum requirements to get them out the factory door!

Same with ours. They extended our warranty for the length of time they had ours and not a day longer. And no compensation for loss of use.

We've not had a problem with it since the repair other than the silicone coming off around the nose. A quick fix. So far so good.
