Basement Vent

Hello,
My wife and I sold our 2019 3130re and purchased a 2020 3700LK. As I was tinkering around the basement area I noticed the heat/air vent located on the wall. After a closer look at the vent I realized there was nothing attached to the backside of the vent. Shouldn’t there be a hose from the heater attached to the vent? I then found a hose from the heater that ran down through a cutout and into the area of the tanks. The flexible hose had no attachment or cap. I’m confused as to whether this flexible heater hose is supposed to go into the tank area or possibly attach to the basement vent? The basement vent size is much larger than the hose so it would need some kind of adapter to fit the vent.
Thanks for any advice.

On our rig that white vent serves as the return air. The finished basement area has supply cut into the duct that runs below the master. The unfinished area serves as the return plenum for the furnace (the coach return is the grills cut into our stair risers).

PS - we have that small flex duct into the tank area as well.

The hose you found on the floor is supposed to go down towards the back of your tanks. Push it down the hole in the floor so the furnace will blow air towards your dump valves at the back of your tanks.
The vent in the wall is just for air circulation. Not really necessary since the removalable basement walls don't go all the way to the ceiling.

Thumbs up Thanks again

Thank you very much for the quick and informative response. Now I can put everything back as it was (hopefully) and relax.
