I just bought a 2011 Montana Wilderness Hickory Edition 35ft10ins,4 slides etc etc. Took a 4 year warrantee 2400$Cdn. I the Norcold fridge died I could see 3500$Cdn for a new one so for us the warrantee is a good idea. Although used, the 2011 was never towed around nor used more than for a few weeks. So it is like new. Even so as others note, it gives one peace of mind and insured help if something goes seriously wrong. Cheers to all.We sure love this unit.

I would not get an extended warranty on a new RV. Most of it's systems are covered for three years. You'd be paying for a warranty to cover things that are already under warranty.
I have not had an rig yet that had any internal component that was covered for three years other than the roof? We have always elected to have the extended warranty as I can easily afford the price of it spread over time (Good Sam allows quarterly payments) rather than being hit with an expensive repair at one time. We have had occasions to use them in the past, and fully anticipate that we will have occasions to use them in the future. It is merely another form of insurance that we personally, elected and prefer to have. I will add that we elect for the six year after the first year Montana warranty coverage.

Bingo
Maybe "systems" was the wrong term. I was referring to the items/appliances in the RV that could malfunction...refer, furnace, water heater, TVs, microwave, ACs, slide toppers, awnings, fire place, leveling jacks, etc, all have at a three year warranty, some longer.

Ok,

The warranty has been approved and a new cooling unit is here. But instead of going with a OEM norcold unit, there has been some talk about a company called arctic-cold after market units, After talking to my repair guy and he said he has installed a few of these around and has had nothing but great things to say about them. i decided to try it. he will be putting it in next week. I talked to some other owners of these units and 2 of them told me the freezer now gets the ice cream frozen. i will let you know my experience after mine is installed. and the price for my 1210 nor cold is only 1250 dollars (WARRANTY PAID FOR IT). way less than an OEM and has a lifetime warranty.

Hi Guys:

We have our 2012 3800 RE purchased new. Put 7 year after market extended warranty on it at cost of $ 1,500. First year AFTER manufacture warranty expired we replaced the Norcold fridge cooling system,( $800 ) then 8 months later replaced whole fridge ( service tech screw up ) at a cost
of just over $5,000. Then just this week replaced Intel-power at cost
of $ 1,700.00. $ 100 deductible each time but I figure we are way ahead of the game. Still 3 years left on contract. We think this was a good purchase. Just saying !

Whether you have an ESP or not depends to a large extent on your tolerance for risk. I enjoy risk. To me risk is fun and has served me well over the years. I'm not someone who would ever buy an ESP.

I buy them on my cars, trucks and keep Good Sam Waranty on the 3750. It's paid for its self many times!

Ok.

The cooling unit has been replaced. And it has been running now for 4 days. Temp for the Freeze= 7° the Fridge=36° outside temp =80°, setting on #5. the ice cream is actually frozen, the first time the Norcold 1210 has done that. The setting was at max #9 for 2 days and the freeze was at -7° and the fridge was at 24°. The Arctic cold aftermarket unit works well. I helped the rv tech swap out the cooling units and the Norcold unit we removed weighed half as much as the arctic cold unit we installed. So i would recommend this company if you need a new cooling unit. and the core can be scrapped, Arctic cold dosent want the old Norcold unit back. they say there junk. and looking at the two side by side i will agree. Ohh. did i say the Arctic cold unit cost half as much as the Norcold cooling unit.

Thanks

I have the Good Sams Warranties on both my Monty and on the truck. I have a F250 6.0 and the warranty has more than paid for itself the two years I have had it. On the Monty they have replaced the cooling unit and the Hot Water Heater I highly recommend them

Check engine light came on in the 08 Ford Diesel short story nothing serious but fix was 686.00 thanks to the Ford ESP 100.00 out of pocket and I never got my hands dirty.
