Light switch
We have a '05 3400. Several weeks ago I noticed that when I turned the kitchen lights off the switch would be very warm. I think this was when the lights had been on for quite awhile. Now that switch is very hard to turn on and off. The other switches on the same plate are "normal"......(scare lights and outside by the steps). Do these plates just pry off since there are no screws? I have visions of wires being melted together and a fire waiting to happen. Any ideas about this? Thanks!

Yes they just pry off, so pry carefully. They may break easily. Sounds like you may have some loose wires so be carefull. Pull shore cord if you have to so as not to get shocked while working on it. Good luck.

I had to replace one of those switches some time ago. I ended up pulling the entire plate and replacing the switch....

Had this same thing happen last week on my 07 3400. The switches were mounted to a plate that screwed into the wall. I imagine yours is similier. I took the plate from the wall and my switches are held in place by 2 dabs of silicone on the backsides of the switch case. I moved the the wires from the kitchen switch to the flood light switch and will use it until I can replace the bad one. Looks like if you cut through or scrape away the silicone the switch should be pretty easy to remove. I haven't looked for a replacement yet but was told most any auto parts store should carry one.
