Hydraulic Slide Question

Can you run the slides on battery power or with plug connected to truck? I only have one battery.

I am planning on getting another battery or changing to 2 - 6 volts batteries.

All the other RV's we have owned had electric slides.

Thanks,

Battery power if fully charged is all you need. One battery is plenty, it is all we have. The truck hookup will provide minimum power, with a dead battery, it will take a while to use the front jacks or the slides because it is just a trickle from the truck battery. When shore power or a generator is hooked up, the inverter kicks in which will help with running the slides out. If you are planning on boondocking, the additional battery power will definitely help.

We run them on battery all the time. If your battery goes bad you can run off shore power or you can run off the truck. If the truck, you may have to have the engine running for power to flow through the cord. Some GM's require you insert a fuse into a fuse blank first, if you haven't already.
