Use of your RV

There is a topic over on RV net asking how many days a year do you use your RV . The replies are interesting (5 pages) and seem to re enforce the RVIA and others definition of Rv'ing as " occassional use, 40 to 60 days a year. I think we MOC'ers do more than that as we have many full timers and long timers.

so...how many days a year do we use ou Rv's. We as long timers do 240 Days(8 months) or more.

I would guesstimate ours at 30-40 days a year for the women and about a week or two less for Dad. Still not bad for holding down a full-time job!

This year we will be at camp from May 1 thru Oct 27, except for a few outings along the season, but still we are staying in the Monty so i would say 2008-we stayed a little 100 days/ 2009 we plan in staying around 180 days..... and I am still working full time Chuck Now went I retire......

We did 16 weeks on the road last year. Three trips. What's that? 112 days, more or less?!!! Two Rallies, FL southeast US tour, and a Midwest-Lakes States tour. A very different question would be how many miles?!!!

During leap year, it would be 366 days.

You full timers just have to rub in in don't you.... If you know how many miles post them. WE do not keep track of miles on the camper but since we use the truck primary for towing the 3400 we can do a good estimate.@ 12K per year.

We were about 8 months last year, (07-08), but closer to 8 days this year (08-09). Hoping to get rolling again in the Spring.

I used mine one night last year (2008). It went from the garage to the driveway, slept in it one night just so I could say I used it, then back to the garage for winter. Did not even bother dewinterizing it last year. Maybe I will use it more in 09...

I would estimate 200 days we use the Monty and based on the milege on the Dodge we travel about 20,000 miles per year. The miles will probably drop as we have done our on the go traveling we are starting to spend 3 months of Winter in the RGV and on other trips we are starting to stay in one spot for a month rather than the old 1-2 weeks.

We usually do 40 to 50 nights and about 3000 miles per year for the last 5 years. We are both still working full-time.

My sis and I both work full time so last year about 30 days and 12,000 miles.

This year Gail is retiring in July so we have about 50 days for her and 35 for me.

Next year we hope to make at least one 6 week trip and 3 or 4 week to 10 day trips.

We have been in a 5th wheel since Jan 2005 all but about eleven months. But since we don't full time anymore we will be using the 5th wheel about 7 Months a year. We quit keeping up with mileage when we went over 50,000 miles in 2007. We traveled between 22,000 to 25,000 miles in the first year. I really don't like staying over a month in one RV park. Unless we are in the Texas or Arizona. GBY....
