Cargo carrier install

I have purchased an aluminum cargo carrier to install on the "accessory" hitch on the back of our 3400RL. We plan to carry our Honda EU3000 generator. I have the 1 1/4" to 2" adapter. Total weight of items and generator full of gas is 192 lbs. Stated max capacity of the hitch is 250 lbs. It appears I should be within tolerance but wonder about the true capacity of the hitch and the possible strain of movement down the road. Has anyone done something similar? Any ideas and comments appreciated. Also, I will want to come up with a short 30 amp cable. Any thoughts on this?
THANK YOU!

We have a similar set up on the back of our rig, but only use it for the bicycles. Too much bounce in the hitch adapter set up for me to want to carry a generator back there (ours are in the truck). If I was going to do what you intend I'd take the Monty to a shop and have a real 2" hitch put on and the whole support system strengthened or replaced.

You could try having another 1 or 2 receivers welded to the hutch using them as support arms to help balance out the carrier.

We put our bikes on the back and there was a tremendous amount of movement! We added an adapter to the hitch so we could put a ball in, then we put a blue ox bike rack onto the ball system. I think that is why there was so much movement! I would like to put a proper hitch on the back so we can skip all of the adapters and just plug a bike rack directly into it. I don't know if that helps you at all but I thought I would let you know our experience.
