Buying a 3400RL Montana

Here we are at the Toledo RV show. Dave and Cheryl (Dsprik) are right next door. Been at the show all evening looking at the shiny new 3400. Really nice. The docking station is a work of art.Been all over it with a tape measure..It will fit along side the house with no problem.Thought the long slide might not be able to come all the way out but it will. Been looking everywhere for defects..haven't found any yet...darn...Will purchase tomorrow afternoon did not have time this evening, having to much fun. The seagate hotel was a dump..we transfered to the Raddisson...much better. The folks at Town & Country RV are great,,Free passes to the show for all MOC'ers. More later.

Rich,
Just wait! Placing the order is very exciting, but it is only half as much fun as the day you take delivery!

Congratulations on your purchase. We ordered our 3400RL in January at the Tampa RV show. We still have a week or two until we expect delivery. Hope you got a good deal. Are you getting the second AC? We can't hardy wait!

Congratulations on your 3400. We've been very pleased with the layout and functionality of our unit. The 06's have some neat engineering enhancements related to the water lines and winterizing that will make its use much easier. We wish you the very best of luck with your new unit.

Congratulations, Rich & Helen. The big day has finally arrived. You folks are a good example of how much information you can glean from this great forum even before you order a rig. It helped us a lot in the 'early days' and continues to be a great source of info and friendship.

Welcome, Bill and Bobbi, to the forum. You've purchased a great rig and it's great that you've found this source for the answer to many of your future questions.

We are getting the 2nd A/C and it will be the low profile A/C.Bill Tea (T&C) said they will order the unit preped and install the low profile A/C themselves for the same or less dollars. They are also working on installing a bike rack on the rear.. They do it on other brands and think we can adapt it to the Montana..we shall see.Helen handed out ALL here MOC member cards last night..We do have more

Good luck on your purchase. Hopefully, we'll run into each other on the road, somewhere.

And an update on our new truck - it is on the rail!

Well done! If you love your 3400 as much as we love ours you will be very pleased with your purchase. I do envy you the docking station on the new 3400 - this was one of the few upgrades on the Cambridge that I really would have liked on our 3400. Oh well! One day, maybe?

This is a very neat arrangement with all the utility connections plus shower etc. in one place. It makes for a very convenient spot for all the necessary connections.

I wish our 2005 model had the new system!

I would be happy with just having the folding door under my bedroom slide instead of the single door that opens up. You have to hold this door open while on that side of the basement as the bedroom slide prohibits from opening it fully to use the latch. Just another neat feature on the 2005 and beyond.

The deed is done..3400RL ordered.Just returned from the bar where 3 other MOC member families helped me ease the pain of spending that much money...it is good to have a support group. will give a run down of what we ordered when the shock wears off.The check book is a lot lighter....But we are happy campers.

Rich, it was great spending time with you and Helen. We have received our updated quote with the low profile A/C. He also included the Mor/Ryde pin box. I may keep that on there. As you know I will run this number by my local dealer. In the end, it is my money (and you know what I mean by that). Will probably make a decision on which dealer at the end of this week and then order.

Also - the local dealer will have to match the down payment that Bill proposed. Period. Wow, I'm pretty tough, aren't I?

Rich & Helen,

Sharon and I know how the two of you feel spending all that $$$ at one time. We had to write a check for our new pick up at 9:00 AM and the new 315RLS at 11:00 AM on the same day. Boy was that fun! We love our outfit and it meets our needs just fine. I'm sure that your new toys will meet yours. Hope to meet you at the Fall Rally.

Rich & Helen, congrats on the new Monty. As much research as you have done on the 3400 I'm sure you will get exactly what you wanted and it will serve you well for many years. I have enjoyed your post while you were doing research to find out all the different combinations of things to order.

You are doing the right thing. It only makes sense to go with the nearest dealer IF the price is right. I think it will be hard to beat T&C but low price is only part of the equation and you know what I means about that.. One more thing..The Keystone Rep will be here today (Mark) and we have our Hit list of 27 items,,plus a couple more like why order a outside shower when the outside shower does NOT come with a outside shower head & hose..a little thing..but kind of dumb..
