Cleaning the Rubber Molding

Not sure if this has been posted or not as there are still posts that I haven't yet gotten to. This past weekend I tried again to clean the yuk from the rubber molding and the awings on the slide outs. After my wifes nagging I used her method for cleaning anything filthy. That is to put about a cup or cup and a half of Oxi-Clean to a gallon of warm water. I got on top and began to scrub the awings with my extender brush and I couldn't believe it. The mold and mildew just ran off. Much better than all the spray cleaners I've been wasting my money and time on. Just thought I'd pass it on.

Thamks Wendell, Lorraine's got some Oxy-Clean in her cleaning supplies so I guess I'm gonna have to give it a try.

That's a great tip. We have plenty of mildew on our awnings, especially when we're in Alabama. Oxi-clean is supposed to be pretty harmless, too.

Please report back the results. I'm also willing to try that. Has anyone confirmed there's nothing in oxy-clean that will damage the roof or the glue?

As I am looking toward cleaning the main awning in the next two weeks, is there any reason this would not work there as well as the slide awnings?
