Height of awning

The awning on the Monte is considerable higher than the SOB we had last year. Since ours is not electric, the setup includes securing the brace with the little handwheel once the awning is rolled out. At 6' 2" I'm just a bit to sort to reach it if the Monte is sitting on an elevated site.

I bought a 5' length of 1" plastic water pipe at Home Hardware and had them cut a 3' piece off it. I notched the end to fit the 3 fingered handwheel. Once the awning brace is extended to the deployed position, it is easy to tighten the handwheel with the 'extension'. It will save getting a step/ladder/picnic table over to set up the awning.

Not a bad idea. I have to use one of those folding steps just to reach over the bed rails on my truck so I have it in the back next to the tool box and use it for things like that. Joyce has to have one in the rig to get in the cabinets.
