Honda EU200i Companion not CSA approved
This post would be directed at my fellow Canadians....
I was pricing a EU2000i generator at a local dealer with the intention of buying one and then adding the companion later but when I asked about the Companion the dealer informed me that they are not available in Canada because they are not CSA approved.
That explains why they are not shown in Honda's Canadian website.
Has anyone bought one in the US and have any trouble at the border bringing it home?
Thanks...

Talked to the Honda people at the Toronto boat show and I asked them when the companion would be available in Canada. We were told that the Canadian companion equivalent has been CSA approved and should be available sometime in March

The Canadian Customs does not check for CSA marks all they want is the taxes after the personal exemptions.

Have never been asked about the Gennys, nor did they look for or at them. Been back and forth a few times.

The thought run through me that in order to import the genny... it would also have to be CSA approved.
I've never been checked coming this way (must be the honest face ) but have been torn apart several times by the US side...
Thank you.
