Third defective Goodyear Marathon [:(]
We recently discovered a defect in another of our original equipment Goodyear Marathon tires. The first two broke belts on the inside sidewall. Goodyear replaced the first for free (was almost new) and prorated the second. This third one developed a bubble (see first picture) I noticed when we were about ready to pull out of a park. I pulled that tire off and put the spare on. Threw the tire in the bed of the truck to await our arrival where I could get to a Goodyear dealer. The second picture is what it looked like after 3 days. And you should see it now after 5 days! The dealer will have the tire in tomorrow to replace this.

ROFLMAO! You oughta see it today! It's just keepsonagrowin. I'm expecting to hear the pop in the middle of the night tonight. In the morning the dealer replaces it. I bet his tech won't relish taking this one off the rim.

*L* dont it make ya want to just poke at it with a long stick for the fun of it? Hopefully they are going to warranty that or at least provide you with a reasonable pro rate.

I did not know a tire would do that, bulge yes, but grow?? Maybe it is pregnant and if you wait just long enough will provide you with quadruplets! 4 new tires!
HA HA
Great photos Steve!!
Tell the tech to shoot it!! Put it out of it's misery!
Not funny, so, why am I laughing so hard!?!

Well, the tire didn't arrive today so now it will be Monday. The bulge has to be twice now what it was in the above picture. It's not showing any stress marks yet so I guess it's not ready to pop. If I didn't think it might fly out on the road or hit the Montana or truck when parked I'd turn it upside down and see how far it goes when it finally bursts.

Steve, that tire has quite a bulge. Are you still using the Goodyear Marathons or have you changed brands?

I'm still using the Marathons because they keep pro-rating the defects towards a new tire. One of these days I'll bite the bullet and change brands but meantime the wallet is stuck closed and I can't seem to get it open. It's probably empty anyhow. I keep thinking they maybe had a bad run of Marathons and the newer ones are better. I guess time will tell. The one in the pictures was mfd 25th week of 2002. I think you can see the 2502 in the picture. No, I guess not. You can on the full sized picture.
