New Buying program at CW

Was at CW the other day. Heard the employees talking about a new buying program and how they would need to respond.

It seems they are working out the details to be able to sell to and the customer take delivery the same day.

They said you can do it when buying a car, so they should be able to do it also.

Talk about zero repeat business. For this to work and they get repeat business the initial quality and the PDIs would have to be much better than they are now.

I understand and your point is right on. Many dealers do nothing at delivery and wait for potential buyer walk thru before anything is done. Rather then fix before a sale, fixes are done under the buyers warranty.

Sounds to me like another good reason not to buy from Camping World.

We did the old car dealer deal, go in on the last day of the month.
They tried so hard to get the deal done and the unit "over the curb" by 6:00 pm it wasn't funny. Of course we knew a PDI and fixes we're in order but for the deal we cut! They actually moved the unit to an off site storage so they could "ring the bell" on another sell that month.
Yes CW can and will send one out the door if your willing to sign the papers. Note we didn't even own a truck to pull with yet, they stored it almost 2 months!

Why? I'm surprised it's not happening already. I can go buy a car/truck and take it home that day, why not campers? I even bought a boat and took it home the same day. Most of these dealers are inspecting these things when they get dropped off. Once you're approved, why not take it home. If you have issues with it, you're taking it back to the dealer for repairs anyway, so why wait a week, month to take delivery if the rig is sitting on the lot? I see it beneficial for both, the consumer and the dealer, if they can keep the inventory

Okay you are comparing car/truck buying to RV buying. This may work once the initial quality on RVs match that of cars and trucks. A good PDI and inspection takes a couple of hours.

Makes it kind of hard to do in a single day unless something gives.
Good news is it make forums like this so much more important since the forums will be filling in the gaps in the PDIs

Most of these dealers are not. We are on our ninth RV, several dealers, and there were always multiple things wrong. We always do a detailed PDI to include spending the first night on the dealer lot. We never sign or pull off the lot until all is correct. For many dealers sense of urgency to fix drops once you leave the lot, and then you get to wait for an appointment. But if it works for you, great!

Me and my son purchased two 3791rd's at Myrtle Beach CW on January 2nd. We went in about 9am and left at 5pm with our new 5th wheels. They also installed a 5th wheel hitch on my truck.
