Slide Awning Aftermarket

I have a new 2014 3850FL and I am considering installing aftermarket slide awning toppers. Anyone have brand and model recommendations?

About the only brands I found was dometic and carefree. Do your research, look around at what others have installed.

Ours are Dometic and which the winds they have to deal with spending the summers in Kansas and the winters near Yuma they've done a good job for us.

A lot of folks replaced their Dometic with Carefree at Quartzsite. After seeing the difference we will replace ours with the Carefree also during our winter trip to Q next Jan. The mounts seem to be stronger and after 5 or so years the Dometic units start to wobble because the end caps holes start to turn oval because the bushings wear out. The Carefree units also have a built in wind fin that directs the side windup and over the awning and not under it like the the Dometics. The newer awning material is MUCH heavier then the OEM stuff. I wish that we had gotten them when we got the rig but we didn't know..

As reflected really only two choices. We have had good luck with both
