New Ford Truck Buyers

Just curious... Several years ago we bought an Expedition and a week or so later, a really nice set of Ford camping chairs showed up on the doorstep. Has anyone that recently purchased a new Ford truck received any "thank you" gifts after a new purchase?

I have received things from the dealership or salesmen before, but never from the manufacturer.

Yeah, we were really surprised too on the camping chairs, but they actually came from Ford Motor Company and not the dealership.

With the 2005, I got a nice set of Milwaulkee Power Tools. With the 2011 all they gave me was a free oil change, and they didnt honor that because they would only put 10W30 in the diesel, and the book called for 5W40 for towing, so I had to do that myself. Do like the truck though!

PS here. Dealer did pay for deinstall/reinstall of my hitch from old to new truck.

I got those chairs when I bought a new '97 F150. But not on the '04 F250 or '07 F350.

1 Free Oil change and free Sirius radio for 6 months was all we got. And to think that we paid 3/4 of what we did for our first house for this truck one would think we would get something from them.

And ours was in 2000 so it has been several years since they did something like that it sounds like.

The sales manager at the dealer I bought my rig at almost tossed me out of the office. I ordered my F350 for July 2011 delivery in Florida and drove it back to Alaska. I wasn't registering it in Florida when I took delivery. I negotiated quite a sweet deal on a factory order as sales were pretty bad. He insisted I sign a limited power of attorney to the dealer when I took delivery. I refused as he couldn't give me one good reason for signing it other than they "might" run into issues with DMV, which wasn't going to happen. I don't think a gift was on his mind. This was all right after they refused to hand me the certificate of origin from Ford, saying they had to give it to DMV. I had to have a good friend who is a manager with Alaska DMV call him and tell him if he mailed it to Alaska DMV they would return it to the dealer, they only accept them from the consumer. It was quite the ordeal to drive the rig off the lot.

Gee, I don't think my dealer or Ford for that matter would arrange a gift for us either. I ordered a 2012. The delivery process was not handled well. When one accessory was missing, I asked if it could be added. What seemed to be a simple question dragged out for weeks. I got a survey from Ford asking about my experience. I was not very complimentary. They day after I answered the survey, I receive a rather incoherent email from the owner of the dealership. One of the things he asked is that I not respond to Ford's request for a survey (which I already had).

Once he got the results of the survey, he had the salesman email me and asked me not to set foot back in the dealership. I received service cards from Ford with the dealers name on them. I returned them to Ford with a letter detailing my experience and asking for another local dealer. The letter went unanswered.

Despite the experience, I really like the truck.

Wow, that's too bad. I had the same problem - either the salesperson or Ford missed my limited slip option, so I had to re-order the truck. What started as my original order in September of 2011 resulted in final delivery on February 10th!! Talk about a painful wait...

That's funny, we were at 3/4 the price of our first house too - that hurts! You would think a hat or keychain wouldn't kill them. I forgot about the free Sirius so we did get something. I have to contact my salesperson because she did say the first oil change was on them, but I forgot to get a coupon or something to get that.
