If all goes right tomorrow, I'll move up from a 2500HD to a Chevy 3500HD 4X4 SRW. I've known since I bought the 3585 Montana that I was probably 500# over in pin weight, but it has taken this long to save the $$$ to move up to the one ton SRW. I'll feel a lot better rolling down the road knowing the pin weight is below truck max. Next to be replaced are the China Marathons.

we were weighed at service center at the rally when we were in for some work The 06 3400 weighed 15,080Lbs. The 3400 GVWR is 15,500 lbs and the tow capacity 0f the listed below truck is 15,500 lbs. we are that close,Now the new Fords have a much higher tow capacity but we do not have a new Ford.
we were also weighed by RVSEF but there was a discrepancy in the weights between RVSEF and the service center. We spoke to RVSEf today and talked about it.

I did not want the one ton dually.I needed the one ton dually.Looked at all the numbers and they said one ton dually. It does not fit in the garage, does not fit in most car washes, bank lanes, is a PITA to find a parking spot and as a daily driver if I used it as such..would suck.. It is however within all specs for towing this heavy 3400 and that is what we purchased it for.

Exactly!
All the arguments for NOT owning an appropriate sized truck are irrelevant. If you NEED the big truck get it, or get a smaller 5th wheel...quite simple actually.

Hi
Our Dually fits in all but the parking spaces marked “Compact” provided the cars on either side of the parking space are properly parked.
I gave this truck to my wife for her birthday in 2009. She has been driving it as her only mode of transportation ever since.
The secret to parking in a crowded parking lot is being trained on how to back in to a parking place.
She has never even scratched his truck and she has driven it at least half of the 68,000 miles that is on the odometer. She draws a crowd and gets many comments on here ability to park this truck.
We park both of our tucks outside even thought we could park both in the garage as well as a couple of more.
After riding with my wife in her truck a friend of mine purchased a 2009 Duramax 2500 because he couldn’t find a 3500 short enough to fit in his garage not because of the width of the dual wheels. Then he purchased a trailer that was the proper sizes for the truck he had.
