This is how it’s done!
Some time back some one asks me how I loaded a 1,000Lb. object in the basement.
Well this is how it's done.

.
The unit is partially disassembled but all of the parts got loaded. Most of the weight is in the running gear, boiler and tender. The unit is dry but the tender has a full load of coal.

I admit, that's the 1st time I've ever seen that kind of cargo in a Monty. I'll bet it didn't bounce around much!

Never saw a Monty hauling a second TOW vehicle. Sorry just had to say that. Nice system.

I can say one thing....you have more faith in that basement floor than I do.

Hi
If you look close at the pictures you will see the floor is reinforced. You will also note that the heavy weight is on the passenger side of the trailer. When I ask Lippert and Keystone about weight limitations on the basement I have an E-Mail stating to not exceed the GVW for the trailer.

Coming from a long-time railway family (my grandfather was with CPR around 1913, overlapping service with 2 uncles, one of whom later overlapped with my brother) I think that is WAY cool!

The pin weight was the first thing that I thought about. Recent posts have opened my eyes to that number.

Our pin weight is below the rating. I am below the ratings for all axles. One of the reasons we purchased the highest weight capacity in a light duty truck. We looked at medium duty trucks but they are just much bigger and my wife didn’t like them.

Hope that Lippert Frame doesn't flex and give away!! It does have a reputation.
I was going to haul a couple of large cast wheels that weighed 250 lbs each but decided against it after examining the floor.
