Bucket of Straps

Hi Guys, I have a 5 gallon bucket with probably 12 ratchet and several cinch straps all loose in there. Use them to hold stuff in the back of the pickup when towing the fiver as I take the tailgate off. Just trying to get some ideas how to organize them. Anyone here have some good ways to store them? Thanks

I roll mine up individually and store them in a cardboard box.

I roll the strap tightly around the ratchet mechanism and tie a piece of light nylon cord around it. They just lay in the bed beside the hitch. But rolled and tied like that, they still stay pretty neat and untangled.

I keep all mine thrown in a wad in a drawer in the garage (house) workbench. Whenever I have need for one, I never have them with me it seems, so I make a trip to Wally World or a home improvement store and pick up more to add to the collection. I may have to expand to two workbench drawers by the end of this summer. Your method sure beats the heck out of mine!!!

I keep mine rolled, too, but hold them with either a section of inner tube or one of the ball bungee cords. One of the little tool bags from Home Depot holds them, extra bungee cords, and some 3/8" and 1/4" nylon and poly line.

I roll mine up and put them individually in one gallon freezer zip lock bags. It works great.They stay dry and they are easy to find.

I keep some of the ones I use in an open tool box just behind the cab. The rest of them are in a container I keep in the camper storage area. When towing the truck bed cover is folded over the open tool box.

Be careful what you leave lying loose in the truck bed. I had a funny thing happen once. I was towing and had the blue boy tank, empty, riding in the truck bed. I had done this several times without incident. The tail gate was in a normal position and something got my attention in my mirrors. As I looked in the mirrors I saw the blue boy tank levitating above the truck bed. The next thing I saw was that it whooshed right over the side and went bouncing down the road behind me. Never thought that would have happened but it did. The air currents created in the truck bed can do funny things sometimes. The only thing I couldn’t recover was a tiny red cap which covered the vent. Everything else was easily found in the road or on the side of it somewhere.

I keep them in the rear door pocket of my GMC.Rolled up they fit well

Rollum up tight, secure them and put'em in the bucket with a lid on it. I keep mine rolled up and stored in one of the truck bins.

Make your own group of bungee cords for less than $2.

At Wally-world, buy a bicycle tire inner tube. Cut it down one of the ridge lines. Cut 1/2 inch strips, as many as you can, from the flattened (but convoluted) piece. Cut the 1/2 inch strips to any desired length that you want. Short for small straps. A little bigger for the bigger straps. The rubber has a lot of stretch. On the pieces, tie the ends together in a knot. Place the home made bungee around the strap, put the not through the loop, and pull. They self tighten and remain in place.

Cheap, effective, and you owe me 10 cents if you use the process.

I roll my up and use shrink wrap to secure them.. store them under the seat of the tv

Roll mine up and use electrical tape to secure them. Always have a roll of that around. then store them in a rubbermaid box that has a good hasp on it.
