Is it just us?

We've had so many occasions where we're chatting with someone at a rest area or an RV park and they'll look at our rig and ask "So, are you from Montana?" And they're serious! Are we the only ones lucky enough to encounter these people or has anyone else shared this experience?

And, if you have, how do you reply? We're still somewhat dumbfounded whenever we're asked that question.

I've bumped into some interesting folks out on the road but sounds like you've run into a few more than I have. I guess I just don't have that "From Montana" look about me. But we're going to keep on 'trucking' and I'll bet we run into some of those same folks. It's still all fun though isn't it?

Vicki, you got to remember that 50% of the population are in the bottom half of the bell curve.

Yes Vicki we do... Just last week someone asked Bill why we had South Dakota plates if we were from Montana. Another time while we were in Montana someone asked us what we do when we leave the state... Bill told them we would have to buy a Dakota. And yes, they both were serious.

These same people vote.

We get it all of the time. Usually as "where in Montana are you from?". We always tell then the truth "We are from San Jose".

Try living in Montana and telling folks back home (Texas, always and forever) that you own a Montana 5th-wheeler. Invariably, the reponse is, "Isn't that cute! I didn't know any RVs were made in Montana."

Wow! And I thought I was probably the only one. I was washing ours in the parking lot of the day care center we own here in Texas last summer when a guy came strolling by and ask what part of Montana I was from. I guess he thought I had just pulled up beside the business and started washing it. Caught me so off guard I did not have time to come up with a smart answer.

Send a message via MSN to Parrothead
Since we have a MOC sticker on the truck, we get asked that frequently. Sometimes we explain if it doesn't look like a deer in a headlight person.
Happy trails..............

We have the MOC license plate holders and that REALLY throws them off!! Everyone thinks we are from Montana.

Just tell them that you are in Witness Protection and the government bought this rig for me and pays ALL my bills. Try to keep your tongue in your cheek. Then turn and walk away. I have done this.

Yes many times. In fact at the MOC rally a couple walking through our area asked if we were all from Montana.

You know those little oval snob stickers with the three letters inside that they have for various tourists havens? We should create one that says MOC. Kick back with that and see what kind of questions you get. We could say we are from the MOC in Montana.

The people that ask those questions are driving to Washington, DC, they are our representatives in congress.
