Update on Burnt Wireing

We have completed our two days at Quality RV in Elk River, MN. I feel very lucky that we didn't have worse problems. I am going to post one picture on our web site and write the story later. We are beat tonight.

I'm glad you got it taken care of. Also, glad it didn't result in a fire!!!

Bill and Helen,
NASTY! Looks like the spring retainer in the wire nut is still on the wire. It was the Black, 'hot' wire, they will overheat when not tight, loose connection=burned wires. Where was the connection? I would have thought it would have been on one of their crummy cheap outlets with the push-in wire system, but it looks like a different connection.
You can bet when you let us know, we will be all over that on ours!
Glad you are OK.

You are right Ozz. Loose connection. It was the behind the wall connection under the computer desk. I guess with all of the rough roads we traveled in Alaska, something was bound to come loose. You can bet it won't again though.

I have finished my update on our blog. Should be ready in about five or ten minutes. I am just putting some more pictures on.

Helen and Bill, I'm glad to hear you caught this before it became a serious and dangerous problem. I just read about your time there. Quite an adventure you had! These things can be frustrating at the time but will be something you'll smile about someday when you're rocking in your chair and doing the "remember when?" thing.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!
