Steve,
My experience and research shows that MOCers need to make DIRECT contact with Keystone ourselves and NOT rely on what the dealer says that Keystone said. Not saying that this dealer is a bad dealer - there are a bunch out there though - but you are going against the odds by relying on any dealer to relay info on any possible repairs/replacements that need to be done. Especially if you are unhappy with their answer.
Dealers sometimes misunderstand the situation, or don't want to bother even calling Keystone, and just tell you something that will benefit their bottom line, OR in some extreme cases, dealerships have called Keystone, then lied about what they said to the customer. Some you could make a Michael Douglass "greed" movie about...
We happen to have a GREAT dealer, Town & Country RV, Clyde, OH (Bill Tea - Owner), but I have had personal experience with VERY bad ones. We have one MOC member that refuses to take any work to his local dealership, or buy there, and his grandson works in the service department there.
I want to add a caveat here... it sounds like I am bashing Montana dealerships in general. I am not. You will find many great dealers out there. But talking directly to Keystone about a problem is almost always the best policy.
I have a new 3400RL. Been through 2 torrential downpours. No leaks anywhere, including the LR/dining slideout window. Keystone has stepped up to the plate on MANY out of warranty issues with MOC members here. I would contact Keystone directly. JMHO.
*On Edit~ ALSO, sometimes talking to the RIGHT person at Keystone has made a night and day difference in getting satisfactory results, when the initial Keystone contact failed to resolve an issue.
