Our fan works great - use it a lot. Like Carol we put an extension on the chain so I can reach it.

Standard two-wires. Any fan will install if the support will hold it.
The ceiling-hugger is the reason they don't move alot of air. Mine is pretty quite but doesn't move much air. You have to measure how much height you have to work with to see what fan will fit.
A simple box fan for the dining area can move air from the trailer through the window or move air into the trailer through the window.
A small fan can be placed throughout the trailer to move the AC air around. I like the breeze to blow on the bed at night.
I have used a fan outside to provide some breeze when the wind is still. Moving air slows down the flying critters.

I was about ready to replace my noisy fan when I reached up to turn the fan off (due to the noise) and I bumped the light globe and it rattled. Found the globe was loose. Tightened the screws, noise gone.
