Solar panels on roof today
I had to wait until I cleaned the roof, got that done then had to wait for a half-decent day combined with finding someone to help me get them up there. Today was the day. One of my customers came up and we got them on.
Now I need to hook everything up. I ran the 2 wires down a vent pipe. I need to hook up the wires to the Midnite Solar Classic 150 MPPT, then cover up the panels and snap the latching connectors together.
315 Panels: Voc 45.6V (Vmp 36.5V) Isc 9.35, (Imp8.71A) 49.6# each With 25 yr. Linear Performance Warranty and 10 year product warranty

Nice looking panels and a nice installation job...Mr Wizard of Ozz! Guess panels require one to rethink how you get onto different sections of the montana roof...i hadn't even thought of that until i saw this picture. John

Nice install Ozz... I see you were able to run them fore and aft which is nice.. Looks like you will be cranking out 50+ amps before you know it..

Larry I wanted more.. a guy thing I think... but I got the largest and all that I could fit. I made cardboard patterns so I knew they would fit. I could have put more up there, but they would be different voltages and would require another Controller. I can always do that later if needed. I find that after a project is complete I beat myself up on how it could have been done better, but it is what it is sometimes, I think I will be happy with it.

Yes Ozz it is a guy thing... After putting on the 3ea 435 watt panels and running for a couple of weeks I thought about adding one more as the controller will handle 96 amps and so far I have seen 52 amps. But I guess I will stay with what I have... By the time I figure out all the bells and whistles I will be old and gray....

Nice! Freedom is around the corner. I went with the 275 watt but chickened out on doing the install myself. Should have the Monty back next week. Wish I had your talent

Thanks Scott, but we haven't seen if I can contain the smoke yet. This is a job no-one has done before, with nobody around to ask questions to, (around my Casa here) it is a bit daunting. I have got good advice from a few of my friends here on the MOC, and from NAWS, (they were great) but the job is not complete yet.
Let us know how yours works and post pictures!
