Don't put the remote on the bed rail!

I knew it would happen one day! Put the remote on the bed rail when raising the landing gear. Now it is roadside litter somewhere in Nevada. Oh and should add to the bill a few bucks for the Construction Orange can of spray paint I am going to paint the new remote with.

Sorry to hear that, sounds like my practice of keeping the remote on the key-ring with the camper keys will be continued! Won't fit in my pocket, but there is a price for everything,

Bummer Triplehorn! This can't happen to me for two reasons. First, I'm not one of the best, second, I don't have or use a remote. Does the construction orange paint come in "dayglo"?

Sorry to hear about your loss, but many of us have done more costly oversites than that.

Well all I can say is what remote.... Our 2002 3295rk does not have that option.. Sorry to here about your remote. Maybe someone out in MOC land will have a spare for a good price.

I have my remote and keys on a lanyard that I keep around my neck. I did it after laying it about too often.

On remote subject, I've wondered how many different frequency codes there are. Are any two the same? Next door neighbor closes his slides and yours go in wouldn't be a good thing.
My last three 5th wheels were Sunnybrooks and my 1999 had remote door bells. At a Sunnybrook rally you could ring your door bell and about 10% of the Sunnybrooks door bell would ring.

Send a message via Yahoo to NCFischers
Do what the gas stations used to do and attach it to something big and bulky like an old tire rim.

I wondered the same thing. Though I think code differences is one way but I CAN say that when I'm standing in the back of the trailer, lowering the stablizer arms it cuts in and out. Probably limited also by range. Hope there are many codes and not mainly limited by distance. Those that don't have the remote. This for me is another I am spoiled by the premium features in the Montanas. I ordered the replacement for $100 lesson. (ouch). I was moving the trailer from a RV park to a forest service campground (only about 10 miles in Nevada). We drove the road slowly a couple times and i really think if it was a dayglo orange I would have recovered it. Hope I learned from this lesson and my new shiny dayglo orange remote will not meet the same demise but if it does maybe color will help find it.

My controller box for the slides, landing gear, stabilizers, and awning has a timer circuit in it, so the remote will quit working after a few minutes. The odds of someone else's remote moving things on your trailer are, well, shall we say, ....extremely remote! =O)
