My Little 2955 came with C rated 15 inch tires. I up graded to E rated 16 inch LT tires.
The nice thing here is Phil feels well enough to be back with us, WONDERFUL.

I went with the LT tires many years ago and I have had fewer problems. ST tires may be rated a few hundred pounds higher than LT tires but I will never go back to them. Good luck trying to find an ST tire in the boonies if you need one. You can find LT tires anywhere. I have put over 30k on the BFG Comm. TA's with no problems.

We paid careful attention to not over-inflating the Marathons. Instead, we ran them to spec (tire chart on Goodyear's web site). Our plan was to dump them at the end of the season. When they failed, earlier than we wanted (, they failed "soft" and we had no damage. We switched to the G614's. What a load off our minds!

My thought about China is that the Chinese are as smart as we are and can build a great tire if they want, but they will build whatever the customer wants. Tom S.' table of the weights of the tire carcasses tells the story of the Marathons - no reserve capacity. The electricians in the group are familiar with the idea of de-rating components to 80% as standard practice, giving you 20% (or 25%, depending how you look at it) reserve capacity. THe components are never challenged at their limits. If no reserve capacity is specified, then the unscrupulous manufacturer will give you what you asked for, not what you expected - which are often different!.

last november went with G614s....as far as I'm concerned, at this point, I should have put them on when i purchased my 3150. I had 2 blowouts, and a bad tire (belts shifted) all within 8 months of each other.

I am a new Montana owner and need some objective advice. I recentely purchessed a 08 Montana, 4 slide, 11400lb dry weight. The tires are in great shape but are original so I plan to replace them. I am going from a Mission T 108 ST 235/80R16 E, and plan on buying a set of Goodyear G614 LT235/85R16 LGR (rated to 3750lbs). On the Montana forum I learned that the wheels I currently have my not be rated for the G rated tires because of the 110lb max air pressure they hold. I looked on the back of the alloy rims and the only understandable iformation said that the wheels had a max rateing of 3500lbs max. Ithen called my local Belle Tire dealer and he called his wheel manufacturer who told him I would definatly need a wheel (alloy wheel S-20, rated for 3750lbs).to be considered safe. I dont mind paying the cost of peace of mind while out on the highway,( michigan to Montana and wyoming this summer) I just dont want to spend anything unnessisarly. Tires and rims will exceed $2300.00! Any one have a ny imfo or veiws on this subject, would be greatly appreated.

If I were in your situation I would put a great LT tire on. They are rated just as highly, are 80# or less and a lot of the forum members use them and have had good luck with them.

Look on Tredit's website. The wheel options are pretty straightforward. You need 110lb-rated wheels for G614's.
