Check your sleep number bed

We recently moved our sleep number bed and in the process we unzipped the mattress cover to reposition the air bags. To our shock we found mold all over the air bladder and the foam topping. We called sleep number and they sent replacement with no questions asked. We got to checking on the internet and there was a class action law suit filed because Sleep Number people knew about the mold problem but did not issue a re-call to customers. The replacement air bladders are supposed to be treated to prevent mold.
Don't know why mold develops as the pillow topping has no stains what-so-ever. So it might pay you to unzip the mattress cover and take a peek.

Thanks for the heads up on the sleep number bed. Ours is 7 years old and is mold-free. I thought that was a great suggestion. thanks

Thank you so much for posting this info. Now, a question...Does anyone have the problem of their sleep number bed losing air pressure every single day?

When we first got ours we thought it was not staying on the setting that we set it on. We noticed it seemed to vary from time to time from where we first set it. After having it for some time we never notice it changing anymore and it seems to always be on the last setting we had it on. I think it takes some time to acclimatize with the environment you are in.

Ours is 5 years old now and my side looses some pressure everyday. I have capped the line and it seems to hold. I have also checked the lines for leaks. I have a new pump and it seems worse than the old unit. I plan on swapping the left and right lines and see if my DW side does the same thing (I am a 70 and she is a 35). I think it is leaking back through the solenoid valve.
