Changed the location of heat in bedroom in 3400

After spending two winters in our 3400 and me telling hubby that the heat on my side of the bed was TOO HOT, I made him sleep on that side jut one night!!! (He got up to go to the bathroom and I moved over to his side so he had no choice) Well what do you know he found out just how hot it was so we now have a new and improved vent for the heat. He put in a 4 inch heat duck tee, between the furnace the duck work to the step going up to the bedroom, re-routed the hot air to a register that he put into the back of the middle step. Register is 4 X 10 1/2. He made a wooden box to put the register in and put it under the step, also added support for the step, used spray foam to make sure that the flex tubing was fitting in tight. If anyone wants to know more just ask here on the board and we will try to answer.

The only problem I had with that resister was stepping on it..Ouch..hot,hot,hot. Bought one at Home depot that closed off and blocked the heat..but...ouch..still hot.Covered it with a strip of thin plywood...All is well.Would like to see a picture because I can not visualize where the register is???

My dog loves that hot spot and sleeps on the bedroom vent, our bedroom stays a little cool, which is nice.

We put one of those plastic vent covers in that aims the air towards the shower and downstairs. Bedroom stays comfortable.
