No AC power
Sadreason (Steve and Sharon) pulled in next to us this evening..All is not well..Sometime on the way down they lost all AC power to the camper(mountaineer TT) here is what we see..The battery was about flat..it is now hooked up to the battery charger (run over to our outside ac outlet) so they have 12V power. The breaker for the converter is tripped and will not reset. The converter breaker will set so it is not bad? however when we throw on the 30 amp main the converter breaker trips...no other breaker trips. Any idea's??????
Of course Keystone customer service is closed for the weekend,,however I have a local mobile repair fix it all guy( Called him for our failed Dometic) that we will call in the Am if we can not get this sorted out. At this point we can not even find the converter.so HELP anybody....

Sounds like it needs to go to a service center..... If there is a dead short in the Converter and the TV didn't charge the batteries on the road.

Suggest you open the main and look for lose wires in the fuse panel.

Find the converter, unplug it, then check it's fuse. Chances are if the converter is shorted, the 30 amp fuse for the 12 volt side will be blown, but my money is on the breaker being bad. Change the wire from the existing breaker to another (same amperage) breaker. If all is well then, it's a bad breaker.
Ozz's edit, I'm still asleep, so I hope this makes sense.....

Cord, or main breaker. Wish I were there, I would break out the meter and work from the power pole in.

It is a Mountaineer TT.. 30 amp service cord goes into the TT..so can't swap out cords. The pedestal is good.. metered it out. Service guy is coming out to replace my Dometic card and he will look at it.No documentation on the converter..googled it and it is a World Friendship LTD product distributed by Cheng USA Elkhart, Ind Model WF-8955AN... Found a print via another forum..It could be a short almost anywhere in the camper. Trying to find out where the cord enters the camper so I can do a volt check... This is a new camper to steve..just got it a short time ago..only the second time out..still trying to find things... RV'ing is so much fun..

Rich,
Pull the cover off the breaker panel, pull the plug on the shore power cord, then check for loose wires inside the panel, look for any burned or discolored wires on the main Black wire powering the 30 amp panel.
Plug in the cord and use the meter to check voltage there.

Rv"ing is so much fun...Steve is back in business..sort of. Converter was fried, dead short, Ripped it out and threw it out the door They now have A/C power and he has the battery charger on the battery to run the 12 volt stuff. We are also fully operational as the repair guy installed our new fridge board. The same guy took care of Steve..yes the converter is fried an he will order another one..Everything works, TV, hot water, fridge, Furnace...Steve and Sharon are happy campers.. So..untill the next failure..the adventure continues...
