Slider Topper Delaminating

On our 2003 3295RK our slider toppers have started to deteriorate in the past few months. They are the two that extend out about 24" and are on the same side. The other one on the other side looks OK so far. Has anyone else found this a problem. Can you just replace the fabric yourself? About how much would it cost? Thanks for replies.

I have never tried, but they are on a tension roll which could make it difficult. I do a search on the forum to see if anyone has tried this themselves. If not response, you might call a dealer to get an idea of the tasks. Good luck.

Our 2004 has started to show same in last several months. Al figures in 2 years, it will be time to replace the fabric. Not looking forward to it, that said, LOVE those toppers and would not be without them.

We had ours replaced on the living room slide at a RV repair shop. If I remember right it was @ $300 for a new roller tube and fabric.

We also had a 2003 3295RK with factory installed slide toppers and they did the same thing a few months ago. Our dealer told us three to four years and they'll need to be replaced. We got four out of ours. We were going to have them replaced but traded the Montana instead.

The fabric can be replaced. It works just like the patio awning. I don't know myself how to do it but our dealer told me he can do it. If you do it yourself be aware there is high tension in the springs in the roller and if you don't do it right it can break your arm. So I've been told. But you **can** do it, with proper precautions.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!
