Lube plate on Pullrite slider
Hey all, am I able to use a teflon lube plate on a Pullrite slider. Im tired of the grease.
I know my capture plate is different than a non-slider. due to it having a rectangle that protrudes down behind the king pin. can i cut the lube plate to go around the rectangle? I have also seen a "slick Plate that actually covers the saddle, instead of it being on the trailer it is on the actual hitch.

Welcome to the forum. We use a lube plate as well, less mess. I don't see why cutting a notch would be an issue unless it tries to rotate when pulling, just keep an eye on it.

Rivrat,
My understanding is the Pullrite slider doesn't need lube other than a little WD40 on the plate. Other than during hookup or unhook there should not be movement between the capture plate and the plate on the hitch. The movement is all down in the hitch.

I removed the lube plate when I installed the capture plate.

I got my Pullrite due to an unexpected really good deal at the Central Plains rally and had to install the capture plate in a hurry and forgot the lube plate was on there and couldn't get the capture plate to fit right. That said, once properly installed you should not use a lube plate with a pullrite. As stated I squirt a little wd40 on the hitch before I hook up and that's all you need. After that the hitch does all the moving.

As others have said you don’t need a lube plate for pullrite slider hitch just a little wd40 every time you hook up and your done.

WD 40 and the pullrite web site if I remember correctly says do not use one of those Teflon plates. I just squirt a little WD 40.

we had a plate for the old Montana .My dealer told me when I got a new plate for our new rig that as long as my Pullrite was a fixed unit ,it was ok...not for Sliders according to him.

might try a part of a 1 gallon milk jug. just cut up one side of it to fit. far thinner than the commercially sold teflon hitch plates.
but greased, light lube, or grease free plate all work for doing this job.

Pullrite with WD 40 is all you need. Follow manufacturers recommendations. I do put a thin coat of grease on the fifth wheel plate during periods of non use just to stave off rust. Talked to Pullrite rep short while ago and he said I didn't really need to do that. I told him I did not like rust. He said, "spray paint it every once in a while". LOL
