MOR/ryde Independent Suspension
We had the IS installed by MOR/ryde in Elkhart after the 2013 Fall Rally. Included were disc brakes and sealed cartridge bearings which carry a 100,000 mile warranty. I would like to know from others that have had the IS installed what regular maintenance you do or have done. Such as:
1) does 100,000 mile warranty on the bearings mean no maintenance or replacement?
2) how often should the brakes be serviced?
3) adjustment of brakes?
4) inspect brake pads and rotors?
5) do brakes need to be adjusted?
6) anything else?
I keep a very close eye on the tires. The wear has been pretty even, therefore I haven't seen a need to have the alignment checked. We are planning a trip to Alaska next summer and want the suspension in tip-top condition. I have been pleased with the IS, particularly the disc brakes, they make a very noticeable difference.
Thanks in advance.
Larry

The IS have some grease zirts that need a shot now and then, but other than that no problems. My understanding on my bearings is that they need to be replaced every 5 years, not sure if the new ones are different.

Larry, what I did was make an appointment with Mor/ryde to have our IS checked before we went to Alaska in 2014. Figured that folks that make and install the system would be the best qualified to check it over. We had standard bearings and had them repacked too.
As for the Disc Brakes, they're just like your TV, no adjustment, just check the wear on the pads that they are wearing even.

1) change after 5 yrs, in yr 5 keep an eye on hub temps.
2-5) inspect pads and rotors begining and end of season. Be sure to check both sides of the rotors. Nothing to adjust.
6) grease I/S pivots as noted already. Slow easy pumps of the grease gun until you see new grease coming out at least one end. Start of the season.
Check brake fluid reservoir level and plumbing for leaks once a month while towing. Our reservoir has the ends bolted on, and after 3 yrs the bolts were loose enough to cause a leak. Major PITA to get to all the bolts to tighten everything back up.
Have fun in Alaska
